The Pirates Have Landed

Under the darkening skies, with threats of severe thunderstorms, the Buccaneers sailed in to capture the City of Lake Charles once more. Jean LaFitte (Keith Jagneaux) and his rowdy pirates circled the seawall, taunting the militia.

The militia fought hard as they blasted their cannons. The militia's general, One-Eye (Sherman Corbello), pushed on to keep the city out of the pirates' reach. However, the skies above won the battle. As the militia ran to take cover from the torrential rain, Jean LaFitte rode out the storm, waiting for his opportunity to land.

Surrounded by his appointed angels, Lafitte was in no danger.

Finally, he was able to slip into the city, imprison the Mayor (The Honorable Randy Roach) and in usual custom made the Mayor "walk the plank" into the cold water of Lake Charles. Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates declared the city their's for the two-week festival, Contraband Days.

The pirates also promised to help restore the hurricane ravaged city back to it's once and future beauty and glory.
